Nibbles, 1st Duchess of Rochester was the Prime Minister of Palmshire and Chancellor of the Exchequer. She is also the heir to the Palmshire throne. She was created the Duchess of Rochester on 18 March 2011 and took up seat in the House of Lords on 21 April.
2011 general election
In the 2011 general election held for Prime Minister on 5 April, she won the election, defeating Lord Dublin, the leader of Palmshire Communist Party by margin of two votes and Rochester was later that day appointed Prime Minister, at the head of a coalition between the Tories and the Whigs. She succeeded Lord Metaville in office who was the caretaker Prime Minister since the Duke of Cypress Hollow's government's fall from power on 28 March.
Prime Minister (2011)
Her tenure as Prime Minister saw passage of 4.5 billion dollar budget, the largest budget ever passed in the Parliament, and a civil war that broke out immediately after her election, later ended by armistice less than a month after the war started. While the Tories were known for their loyal support of her premiership, she had difficulty with the Whigs led by her Lord President of the Council, the Duke of Cypress Hollow, with whom she had clashed with occasionally over several policy issues (namely the Push Nibbles Into Pool Act and the Nibbles Act passed earlier in the Parliament during her tenure). Rochester and her ministry also faced mounting opposition from the Leader of the Opposition, Lord Arcadia (as Lord Dublin is now known) as well increasing unpopularity among the commoners of Palmshire mainly due to tax hikes as result of budget passed, although she retained confidence, and support, of the House of Lords and the monarch.
Rochester joined the Tory Party and became its leader after the Duke of Rockford resigned his party leadership post on 16 May 2011. She was later elected to the House of Commons in 2011 as Member of Parliament (MP) for Cypress Hollow and Rockford. She later tendered her resignation to the King, resigning as the Prime Minister and Chancellor of the Exchequer on 25 June. She was succeeded by the Lord Arcadia. She later became the Leader of the Opposition in the House of Lords.
