Text of the Act

Preamble - An Act to prescribe coronation oath for the Sovereign.

  1. The Sovereign shall take the coronation oath within thirty days of his/her accession.
  2. Justice of the Peace shall ask the Sovereign, "Will you solemnly promise and swear to govern the People of the Kingdom of Palmshire, of your Possessions and the other Territories to any of them belonging or pertaining, according to their respective laws and customs?" The King or Queen shall reply "I solemnly promise so to do." The Justice of the Peace then shall ask the Sovereign, "Will you to your power cause Law and Justice, in Mercy, to be executed in all your judgements?" The King or Queen then shall reply "I will".
  3. The present Sovereign under which this law shall be passed shall take the oath within thirty days of this law going into effect and that the oath shall be deemed to have been taken retroactively at the beginning of the present Sovereign's reign.
  4. This law shall take effect the next day after its passage.
