Sheriff
Sheriff is a law enforcement officer in the Kingdom of Palmshire.
Election
Palmshire is organized into counties and each county have a sheriff elected for a five-month term to serve as its chief law enforcement officer. Currently, only one county exists named Blizzardshire.
Responsibilities
Sheriffs have several responsibilities pertaining to their office:
- Per section 3 of the Sheriff Act of 2015, the sheriff may be delegated by the Crown the responsibility for conducting polling for parliamentary elections in their jurisdiction but no sheriffs who are concurrently a Member of Parliament may be permitted to conduct polling for parliamentary election in which they are candidate of.
- Per section 1 of the Sheriff Duties Act of 2015, the sheriff is responsible for
- Enforcing Right to AFK Anywhere Act,
- Assisting any visitors to the county for which they are elected,
- And settling any property disputes and to call in Administrator (currently Sir Edwin), to enforce Encroachment Act.
- Issuing Palmshire marriage license as provided by section 1 of Marriage License Act; The same act also authorized in section 2 the sheriff to perform marriage cerenomy at request of any couples.
- To enforce Cocaine Act and Obscenity Act
- To maintain electoral register listing eligible voters for the county in which the sheriff is elected for as provided by section 1 of Electoral Register Act;
- Section 2 of the same act requires Sheriff to send electoral register to Home Secretary at end of every term or at request.
- If delegated responsibility for conducting polling in parliamentary elections, Section 3 of the same act provides that the Sheriff must forward returns to the Home Secretary and publish voting results within five days of poll closing.

Sheriff of Blizzardshire - Sarah de la Cueva, elected since 25 August 2015 and whose five-month term will expire at 25 January.
