Victoria is a city in Blizzard and was the capital of the former Victorian Republic. It was started as a small colony of the XR, based over on Active Worlds, but later declared it's independence in the wake of political crisis and remained an independent city for a month before declaring itself a republic. Victoria has been responsible for being a springboard for newer users that have went on to develop their own cities or builds outside of the area over the years, such as Cannaville, New Phoenix City, and Gabrieleville. The city itself is known for also introducing some of VP's best builders towards the platform.

Overview

Victoria began as a small village setup for people who wanted to move over to VP, and remained as a territory under full control of the government in comparison to it's sisters whom allowed more local governance. It never became as big as it's sister communities until the city declared itself a republic months later, but did serve as an example for a partly-successful migration between two platforms. Political turmoil, hacking incidents, and fading interest forced the XR to disband as it lost most of it's government and population while the remains regrouped in Victoria.

The city was immediately faced with several options after the fall of the XR: join Palmshire, go it alone as a city, or become it's own nation. A month later, it became a nation due to not wanting to lose it's any of it's sovereignty. After it's statehood, the city began to construct Lake Victoria as well as an international transportation network connecting Vicky and the area of NCH within the kingdom. Vicky during it's time as a republic has also been it's largest period of expansion, with the formation of a port and growth around the lake and eastern regions of the area. In July 2016, the city government approved a request to create an autonomous region involving the construction of an artificial island, hereby becoming the city's first individually owned district. In August, the issue of multiple migrant communities from Active Worlds not fully integrating with the main area of Blizzard came to a head. The Victorian government issued a joint statement alongside the Lemerican Federation (and indirectly Summerville for a brief moment) within the Facebook group, protesting the current Palmshire parliament system, accusing it of not fully representing all of VP while imposing laws upon the world of Blizzard itself. After solutions were reached, drama flared again the following day until the existing parliament including Palmshire itself was dissolved by Legion, leaving Victoria, Summerville, and Lemerican the only active communities for a while until it's revival.

The governmental body of Victoria was dissolved in October under order of the High Governor in response to the fallout. Eventually, the peerage was reformed and revived in the later portions of the year. Victoria would gain new builders such as Tardyllamma and PCBilder later in December 2016, leading to a massive expansion of the city itself and the revitalization of the Victorian Sea District project by RyanLion and Courier, allowing for the formation of a proper canal and small sea region to surround all of Victoria's northern newfound coastline.

New Atlanta-era

In January 2017, the Kingdom of Palmshire collapsed, leaving the nearby city of New Beachfield independent. Negotiations began with Sarah to bring NB into the republic long before the collapse, but it was eventually decided on merging the two cities to unite under the name of New Atlanta. Eventually in August 2017, disagreements between the Victorian and New Beachfield local governments forced Sarah to withdraw from NB and make a new district in New Huntington, leaving the now old "New" Beachfield under direct control of the Victorian segment. Eventually in November 2017, the Victorian government officially considered the former NB area to no longer be apart of the city, leaving the land up for grabs and preferring to further integrate with neighboring Cannaville.

Dissolution of the Republic

In 2018, the republic was dissolved and the city of Victoria became an independent city once again, annexing the former captaincies of New Ave (itself formerly apart of the city) and New Demonville into it's city government. A new organization, the Commonwealth of Independent Cities, was declared and all former members including Victoria were automatically made apart of the organization.
